Whether you are a total beginner, craft enthusiast, or pottery pro, we have lots of classes and events on offer at our studio that will suit you. Have a look at the list below where you can see at a glance what might suit you best.

Throwing Tasters

Try out the Pottery Wheel in this 3 hour class. During the class you will be shown the basics of how to throw on the potters wheel by your tutor. After the initial instruction. you will get your hands dirty and throw down to test your own skills. It will take a few attempts to master the wheel and with unlimited supply of clay and the help from your tutor, you will be guaranteed to have a pot you're very proud of by the end of the class. The course is 3 hours long and the class numbers are small, usually to a maximum of 6. Each person gets to choose their best pot which we then turn, glaze and fire for you. The pots will be ready to be collected 3-4 weeks after the class.

Hand-build a Teapot

Partial to a good cuppa? It is well known that tea tastes better out of a handmade teapot, so why not make your own! This is a full day course where your tutor will guide you in how to make all the essential parts - lid, body, spout, handle and advise you in what you need to consider to make your teapot function well. There will be time at the end to decorate it or you can leave it to us to add a colourful glaze on top. This class is a wonderful way to spend a full day, 10am-5pm, emersed in clay.

2-Week Throwing and Turning class

Our 2-week throwing and turning class is a great starter class to test the water and see if pottery is for you. this course is 5 hours in total. On the first week you will spend 3-hours learning the basics of 'throwing' on the potters wheel and make lots of pots. A week later, after the pots have had time to dry a little, you will return to 'turn' or trim off the clay from the bottom to create a footring. You can also add handles and decorate using coloured slips. Come on, dip your toes in...but be careful its addictive!

Create a Cake Stand

This 3 hour hand-building class may sound complicated but it is a piece of cake! Your tutor will talk you through the whole process step by step. Using slabs of clay you will make the base and top-plate and then spend time decorating the edge or base using a variety of techniques, like using sprig molds, cutting out patterns, using coloured slip, stamping into the surface and many other options. Like all classes, the cake stand will be ready 3-4 weeks later for collection
